The saint, apostle and evangelist Matthew stands in a rocky landscape. He holds an axe in his right hand, a book in his left. This print is part of a series of 14 prints, each consisting of a full-length effigy of an apostle, Christ or Paul with typical attributes and a caption in Latin.
