This plaque by Geo Verbanck shows a man and a woman in front of a factory building. In the sky, on one side you see a sun, on the other a cloud. The whole thing is stylised and angular. On the reverse there is the statement that the plaque was issued for the promotion of work, hygiene, safety, embellishment of the workshops. There are also five symbols representing agriculture (seeding farmer), shipping, metallurgy, textiles and chemistry, grouped around the coat of arms of East Flanders.
