Since 2017 the administration of Mu.ZEE in Ostend has participated as an observer of the Flemish Art Collection’s (VKC) board of directors. The VKC is very pleased with the news that since the end of November 2017 Mu.ZEE is officially entered into the collaborative relationship. It thereby joins the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Antwerp, the Groeninge Museum (Musea Brugge) and the Museum of Fine Arts in Ghent.
Mu.ZEE already engaged itself as one of the organising institutions of the fourth Summer Course for the Study of the Arts in Flanders, more specifically for the 4th edition on art from the fin de siècle that takes place from 24 June through 4 July 2018.
Mu.ZEE is the art museum by the sea for Belgian art, with complete openness and accessibility. Mu.ZEE creates an active space for the public and artists where art can be approached in a relaxed, free and creative way. Mu.ZEE houses a rich collection of art originating from the assembling of the collections from the former P.M.M.K. and the Museum of Fine Arts. They tell stories with a unique collection of modern and contemporary Belgian art.
For a while now the administration of the M - Museum Leuven is also present as an observer during the meetings of the VKC board of directors. It is with the intention that also M - Museum Leuven officially joins the Flemish Art Collection.
