Amid several artists, the naked Mercury stands on a pedestal as ruler of the arts. In the foreground, two writers are having a discussion. In the sky we see the symbols of Mercury (centre) and the constellations twins (left) and virgin (right). The print is part of a series of seven representations called the planetary gods.
