Godfried Devreese nurtured a deep affection for his parents and used all his craftsmanship to depict his father and mother in a particularly expressive way. His father Constant, a sculptor, is depicted at age 78, his mother Virginie at 72. At the bottom of the cut-off is a variety of sculpture equipment.
