A gang of robbers ambush travellers in a wooded landscape. The brigands search the carriage while the travellers are attacked and try to flee. In the foreground, a horseman is shot at by two men. On the left, three men with spears attack a second horseman. Further into the forest, a man hangs from a noose in a tree.
