The prophet Gad instructs King David. On the threshing floor of the Jebusite Arauna, King David has built an altar. He kneels before the altar and sacrifices cattle there, hoping to stop a plague ravaging the land. Behind Gad flies the angel of death that caused the plague. In the background, a plain strewn with victims of the plague.
