James Ensor gaf hier de molen weer, achter de duinen in Mariakerke bij Oostende. Kunstenaar Willy Finch woonde een tijdlang in een huisje in de onmiddellijke nabijheid ("Hameau du Prince Albert"). De molen inspireerde nog andere kunstenaars zoals de Franse schilder Gudin en ook Willy Finch zelf.
